The phonesim package is still present in Handset Desktop package group.
I filed a bug about this about 5 months ago and it was rejected as
WONTFIX because phonesim must be present on some devices that have do
not have modem working yet.

I wonder why do we prefer removal of phonesim from the image on devices
that have modem and do not prefer adding phonesim on devices that do not
have a real modem?
Currently if phonesim is not wanted to image we need to do either
-phonesim in kickstart or have another mv phonesim.desktop hack in %post
section of .ks file.
I agree that phonesim should be in development images, so maybe it
should be added to meego-development-tools group and removed from
handset group?
