Hi,
The changelog entry isn't very descriptive
the package submission should be rejected on that ground alone
This new version fixes:
*Bug 14374 - Virtual keyboard does not work in Gtk+ based applications*
but fix the virtual
keyboard in Gtk+ based applications (BMC#14374).
that's not approved as release blocker yet though.
Then I guess we can wait :P
which feature corresponds with needing to run Gtk+ apps ?
I don't think there's any plan to have GTK in any of the target
devices....
From the bug report:
Medium for handset UX: Maemo5/Hildon applications do not have working
touchscreen input.
High for Netbook UX on touchscreen enabled devices: stock applications
do not
have working touchscreen input.
None for Netbook UX on non-touchscreen devices.
And basically, Gtk+ applications should be able to bring up the Virtual
Keyboard in Meego too (this is the expected behaviour at the end).
This new version just fixes this issue, so it should be free of any
other "side effects" , it should be safe to upgrade.
Regards,
