Having a virtual account for each component is good idea. Peoples could watch 
these virtual accounts according to their interesting and don't require admin 
to adjust component setting.
But there are some problems as you described in the thread:

1) Not all components have the virtual accounts in cc list and create virtual 
account & adjust component setting one by one are really a boring manual task;
2) End user is not easy to get the virtual accounts for components they are 
going to watch;

So my proposal to improve this is to supplement the virtual accounts for all 
components and publish the components' watchable virtual accounts at meego.com 
wiki.

If no one is willing to do such boring manual task, I can volunteer myself to 
take care of it by composing some half-automatic script :-)
