Hi Steven,

Yes it was repeatable. I have re-installed Meep and the test works fine now. I
might have made an error during the install of BLAS and LAPACK (install
directory).

Many Thanks,

I have installed all the components of meep on my Debian system... however when I run the "make check" i get the following during the test sequence:

Strange, I have Debian stable (gcc 3.3.5) on x86 also, and I can't replicate your problem.

In fact, my results are exactly identical to yours until the last two lines. You have:

frequency for a=5 is 0, 0.189845 (shifted), 0.0949225 (mean)
Unshifted freq error is -4.4986/5/5

Whereas I get:

  frequency for a=5 is 0.186524, 0.189845 (shifted), 0.188185 (mean)
  Unshifted freq error is 0.164509/5/5

Is your error repeatable?

The only substantial difference that I noticed in your configure results was that on my system I installed the ATLAS BLAS libraries whereas you are apparently using the reference BLAS.

Also, I think I removed the harminv.pc file from /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig at some point (it was causing trouble because at the time we had several versions of gcc installed, but the harminv.pc file contains -L flags for the specific gcc version it was compiled with).
