Dear all,
I'd like to know how to scale conductivity in meep - in trying to
model fields in sea water I'm stumped by the problems posed by defining
seawater as a complex dielectric. The dimensionless forms of Maxwell's
Equations on which meep is based make me wonder if I should be scaling
the real conductivity by some factor to make it come into a correct form
for calculating the effective dielectric permittivity. Does anyone have
a lcue as to how to do this ? Sadly I am someone who actually needs to
deal with real materials and things measured in metres rather than
dimensionless quantities. I'm quite happy to scale for the lengths etc
but the material properties are more complex.

best regards

Chris
