Dear Steven,
     I have recently computed the frequency-dependent dielectric ¦Å(¦Ø) of
silicon following the example in the tutorial, material-dispersion.ctl. I
found the dielectric data of silicon on reference, fit it to the dielectric
function and get the value of corresponding paramter:Omega, Gamma and
Delta-epsilon....
     How ever, When I used these parameter in the materials-dispersion.ctl
and run the ctl file, no modes were found after simulation. Can you tell me
what was wrong?

the data of frequency-dependent dielectric epsilon of silicon
----------------------------------------------------------------
omega_unit_in_eV=[0.95;1.00;1.05;1.10;1.15;1.20;1.25;1.30;2.0;2.1;2.2;2.3;2.4];
epsilon_real=[14.37;14.51;14.67;14.74;14.90;15.12;15.28;15.50;19.21;20.25;21.56;23.18;25.09];
epsilon_imaginary=[0.0003;0.0018;0.0054;0.0011;0.0186;0.0279;0.0386;0.0507;1.42;1.72;2.41;3.20;4.67];

parameter in dielectric epsilon got by fitting
----------------------------------------------------------------
  omega1 =               3.66
  delta_epsilon1 =       22.02
  gamma =                3.153
  omega2 =               2.151
  delta_epsilon2 =       10.72
  gamma2=                2.39

best regards!
Huang
