Dear Steven and others,

I try to simulate the transmission at normal incidence through a 2D photonic crystal (PhC) with square lattice (1 micron periodicity). Under the PhC slab is a buffer layer and a thick substrate.

The problem I have is that I can not get the data to converge, not even by increasing the resolution. The simulations are done with the stop-when-fields-decayed to function.

Remarkable is that the data starts to diverge at the wavelength (2 micron) that is exactly twice the PhC periodicity.

The simulation file 3dtrans.ctl is posted here: http://www.pastebin.us/20678
first run: meep first-run?=true 3dtrans.ctl | tee 3dtrans0.out
second run: meep first-run?=false 3dtrans.ctl | tee 3dtrans.out

Any suggestions on how to get my data converge?

Regards,
Ronald
