-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear Meepers,
I am trying to recover the amplitude and phase of each component of the magnetic field at a single, fixed temporal frequency. My materials are all linear. Currently, I have a point source at the desired frequency with slow turnon. I wait for about 200 cycles for transients to die down, then take a handful of snapshots separated by a quarter-period. This works, but it's slow and potentially subject to aliasing. Is there a better way? The obvious way would be to record the fields at every step and then FFT, but I do not have terabytes of storage. Is this a good application for the undocumented FDFD solver? Alternatively, as anyone attempted to select a single frequency by accumulating a running inner product with exp(iwt)? Thanks, Ben -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGLmKnUJT6e6HFtqQRAtorAJwNXi9eD1j3Pwh2x5P3gaVZ+MkbJQCgnE9i m+Ggia+NGMucTJJwg9pxp/s= =pt/f -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ meep-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://ab-initio.mit.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/meep-discuss
