First, you have to define precisely what you mean by its "photonic band".
I assume you mean the steady-state self-consistent solution for some power
level. Meep can do this, I suppose, but I tend to think that this is
actually easier to compute in MPB than in Meep. In MPB you would compute
the eigenmode for the linear index, then update the index profile based on
the computed field pattern and the nonlinearity and the power level you
want, and then recompute the eigenmode, and keep doing this until it
converges. (There have been a couple of papers at least on this approach,
I believe. In principle, you can converge more quickly by using a Newton
iteration of some sort, and there are papers on this too, but I suspect
that in many cases it's not worth the trouble.)
if can ,whether we need only change the parameter of material when we
set materials, and no need to change else part of a ctl file to
calculate photonic band ?
Well, Meep lets you input nonlinear materials directly. The tricky part
is ensuring you excite the mode with the power that you want, and making
sure that you really get the steady-state solution and don't leak the
power into higher harmonics and things like that.
