See the installation manual on "paths for running" and "paths for compiling" to figure out how to tell the configure script where to find stuff (if you've installed in a nonstandard location). If that doesn't work, you can look at the config.log file to find the exact error message that caused the configure script not to be able to link to HDF5. Regards, Steven G.
