If the amplitude is changing with time, it is not a continuous-wave 
source per se.

You have several options:

i) you can use the "continuous" source in Meep, which allows you to 
specify a start time and an end time and a "width", which is a time over 
which it continuously turns on/off

ii) you can use a wide Gaussian source

iii) you can use a custom-src to define whatever function you want.
