Dear Steven
I try to find the Band Structure for a simple air hole triangular slab
using FDTD analysis with the aid of Meep c++ interface. I am to get
the bands like those illustrated in your book "Modeling the Flow of
Light chapter 8 figure 2".Did these bands generate using FDTD Method?
I used nearly same parameters in my c++ code with that of used in the
Book but put no B.C. on both Z planes and Bloch B.C in X and Y
direction and then depict its Band Diagram . The result was a folded
version of Slab Band Structure.
I read somewhere that by choosing extra sources with appropriate
phases one can simply expunge these folded bands. But unfortunately I
don't understand it. Could you please help me getting rid of these
folded bands?
Also there were some line-like extra bands which I think they
correspond to the Z confinement.(Is it true?)
In order to get rid of these extra bands and make my simulation more
realistic I decide to use PML B.C. in both up and down plains. But
what I see in the result does not look like the Slab Bands structures.
Harminv cannot detect modes in the light cone properly! I can't figure
out where I have mistaken. Could you please Kindly help me resolve my
problem?
I have also attached my C++ code with two pictures correspond to above
experiences.

Thanks in advance
