Deal meep users:
I wonder if anyone did this before.
Compare the transverse modes of the fundamental mode from two different
numerical methods.
What I am doing is to see the transverse mode in Fabry-Perot(FP) structure
and expect the transverse mode in 3D FP structure should be close to the one
from 2D FEM .
It means the cross section of 3D FP structure is the same as the one in 2D
FEM.
And one of eigen modes in 2D FEM, usually fundamental mode, can be the
resonant mode in the 3D FP structure.

But I notice the mode from 3D FDTD, meep, of course, has less field in lossy
material but the mode from 2D FEM has more field in lossy material although
these two look similar.
I used the same material and geometry parameters in these two methods.
I wonder if the only way to investigate this is to increase the resolution
in FDTD or anything else?

  Thanks
Adrian
