Dear MEEP users,
I am trying to simulate Silver metal in MEEP at
a particular wavelength. The real part of its dielectric constant is
negative and the imaginary part is positive. But with the negative epsilon
the simulation would become unstable and blow up to infinity. I have used
D-conductivity (for the imaginary part of epsilon) and material dispersion
but got nothing, the flux goes to infinity. I even increased the resolution
and set the courant number to a lower value, but nothing has been changed.
Can somebody please tell me, where is the problem? and please also solve a
simple example of a real metal with negative epsilon.
Thanks in advance.
