Kaushik, I could be wrong, but it looks like numerical error to me. If I am reading your graph right, the error is occurring at low wavelengths. First things first, if you have not already, I would try: 1. A lower center wavelength for the gaussian pulse, and possibly different bandwidths. 2. Increased resolution (maybe ~30, go as high as you can given computational resources). 3. Increased simulation time (in the thousands; I have had this improve results when doing this kind of simulation).
Hope it helps, Matt On Fri, Jul 9, 2010 at 11:57 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello! > > Thank you very much for all the helps I have received from this group. > > I am trying to compute effective dielectric constants of a composite and > then > find the reflectivity of an interface of the composite and air. > > However, I cannot explain the results of my simulations. > Please find the results here > http://filebox.vt.edu/users/kdas/meep-discuss-effective-eps.pdf > > Please let me know any comments or suggestions you may have on > those results. > > Thank you very much, > Kaushik > > > > _______________________________________________ > meep-discuss mailing list > [email protected] > http://ab-initio.mit.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/meep-discuss >
