Hi Pramod,

Yes there is. You set up an extended source that crosses the waveguide, and you
give it the amplitude and phase of the mode that you want. It should then only
excite that mode in the waveguide.

Good luck,

Subject: [Meep-discuss] Launching a particular mode

Dear all,

I have found in my simulations that if I launch light into a waveguide
(2-d), initially it excites lots of modes and after some distance only one mode
sustains. But I need to take a long waveguide for that and it takes a lot of
computational time. Is there a way to excite a particular mode instead of
launching a light source in meep?

Thanking You.
