Hello,

I'm modeling an optically very anisotropic material, having the components
of the permittivity tensor varying in space continuously, with some
(localized) regions of quite strong gradients.

The component values on space points (of a regular cubic grid) are not
defined with any algebraic function, but they have been calculated by
another software and are recorded on a text file.

How can meep read these components values from file and store them into an
array?

And then: once read into an array, how do I "install" these space-varying
permittivity components into meep? Shall I define a material-func? (An
epsilon-func is surely not enough.) If yes, how it has to be done?

I've thoroughly searched all the possibilities and I really don't see how
this could be solved.

Thanks very much for any help.

Iztok
