Dear Meep user

I'm confusing with the description of TE/TM polarization given in Meep's page :
http://ab-initio.mit.edu/wiki/index.php/Exploiting_symmetry_in_Meep

If I have the radiation wave travelling in xy-plane or I have wave vectors
lying along xy-plane,
TE wave or Transverse electric wave should have the components Ez/Hx/Hy because
the electric field is transverse to the direction of propagation. Similarly, TM
wave or transverse magnetic wave should have the components Hz/Ex/Ey.
But I just don't understand why MEEP says in opposite way.
Could soneone explain the reason?
