Hi,

I have a question about calculating the mode volume of a photonic crystal
cavity. Working with an L3 design I need to calculate the mode volume (Purcell
definition), which I do using (meep-fields-modal-volume-in-box fields
(meep-fields-total-volume fields)). This works well except in cases where I
evaluate it at times when the electric field is very small - not surprising.

My question is: does anyone have a handy way of telling meep to calculate the
mode volume when the field is at a maximum at a certain point? I'm trying to
automate the process since we are running a large number of simulations.

Thanks!
Tim
