Dear meep users,

I am trying to observe Kerr type nonlinear effect in nonlinear waveguide.

High amplitude control pulse (Hz) applied to nonlinear waveguide and input
signal (Ez) variation is monitored at the waveguide output.

Nonlinearity is considered instantaneous in meep as mentioned in meep wiki
pages.

But different effect is observed on the input signal (Ez) variation if the
control signal (Hz) is taken pulse (df=0.01 or df=0.001) or cw.

I am puzzled with this result. It’s the nonlinearity is noninstantaneous.

I look at the meep source file but I could not understand nonlinear
relation in c++ files.

I need your comments and suggestion or reference documents

Best
