Dear Steven and MEEP users,

I have read the LDOS tutorial on page:
http://ab-initio.mit.edu/wiki/index.php/Meep_Tutorial/Local_density_of_states .
I have some questions about details of LDOS calculation.

As it is mentioned in the page:LDOS is equal to:

So we need to run a point source at some point and use the above formula to
calculate LDOS.

My questions:

Can we run a point source at a fixed point let say X0 and then compute LDOS at
every other point?(I mean can we compute LDOS at every point with just one
simulation?)

For the point source can we use a hard source or we have to use a current
source?(can we use E(X0)=E(X0)+P(t)?)

For the point source do we need to run the source for some time and turn off
the source and use FFT?

thanks in advance,
Ehsan
