As you may have noticed, the Python interface is being gradually merged into the code repository on GitHub. However, it is not yet ready for public release as additional tweaking and testing are required. We will make an official announcement when it is ready, hopefully in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, we would be grateful for early beta testing and feedback. We have already started adding tutorials <http://meep.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Python_Tutorials/Basics/> to the documentation for those features which are mostly complete and will soon add installation instructions.
