Our clients cover a range of industries including manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, importing, supply chain and logistics. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of new work we are now looking to recruit a talented, customer-focused and motivated Python programmer, to join our successful team in McKinnon, Melbourne. *About the Role* This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced programmer who is passionate about open source development and is looking for a new role that will challenge them and provide real career progression opportunities. In this role you will be working alongside our team of highly skilled and passionate IT specialists to create new and innovative ERP solutions for our valued clients using Python and Javascript programming languages. You will receive user and technical training in our primary application and be given business development responsibilities to support this exciting growth stage. Your responsibilities will require you to: • Analyse, design and develop custom ERP solutions for our clients • Collaborate with experienced application developers to complete client projects • Develop extensions to a leading Open Source ERP, CMS and eCommerce package (Odoo – formerly OpenERP) • Manage assigned tasks from initiation to completion • Work with open source report writers (Pentaho) • After training, liaise directly with clients to identify needs, discuss solutions and take responsibility for client outcomes This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to be part of our culture of teamwork, inclusion, and a passion for open source and achieving excellence in all we do. It is likely you could be an experienced programmer working in a larger company who is ready to move to the next level or perhaps due to a restructure you are looking for a fresh opportunity, alternatively you could be a contractor who is looking for greater permanency and career progression within a leading boutique firm. Your experience should include business analysis and design, customer liaison, good working knowledge of Python (or similar high level language), and ideally some experience with Open Source ERP. You describe yourself as a self-starter, motivated to provide quality outcomes for clients. You are a team player who enjoys the creative challenge of real-world problem solving with others, you enjoy learning new technologies and you understand business processes and how to implement them in an ERP framework. You have a bright and positive personality, love getting involved in new challenges and enjoy a robust debate about solutions. Ideally you understand the challenges of SME clients and can explain technical issues in customer friendly terms. We are looking for the right person with the following attributes: -Recent Python programming experience minimum 5 years -Experience in ERP systems including some analysis -Experience working in Linux environment -Familiarity with “front-end” technologies such as Javascript, css, html, bootstrap -Familiarity with source code repositories such as GIT and Bazaar -Knowledge of Agile development methods -Ability to manage customer relationships -Passion for solving real-world business needs -Applicants with Odoo/OpenERP experience will be highly regarded -Desirable, but not essential, basic knowledge of accounting principles -Able to work as part of a small team -Can work independently -Tertiary qualifications in programming, project management, business analysis or related area Willow IT is a leader in the field of Open Source ERP solutions experiencing sustained growth with excellent prospects for the future.
