Hi everyone!
Good news :-) ... One of our cancelled speakers has now come back with a
generous offer to give his talk anyway (in slightly abbreviated form). Even
better, we now also have three other inspired souls who have volunteered to
give short talks (about 10-15 minutes each). So it should be a lively night!
The program is:
• Brad Nguyen: Applying Data Science to build MVP products for artwork
recommendation
• Ben Finney: How to Make Mistakes in Python: book review
• Robert Layton: New features and gotchas in Pandas v0.19
• Kristine Howard: Lightning talk: Ways to encode data in knitting
When: 5.45pm for 6pm, Monday 7th November
Where: VLSCI Seminar Room, Ground Floor, 700 Swanston Street, Carlton
How to get there: Take a tram 5-10 mins north from Melbourne Central station.
Dinner afterwards: pizza, or maybe dinner & drinks on Lygon
I'll be overseas until Friday, so I'll unfortunately miss the event, but Sam
will host the night and introduce the speakers.
Have a great night! :-)
Cheers,
Ed
