To whom it may concern, Meld is not a balanced project. We are too helpful, too kind, too giving. Our good nature is outweighing our sins, and the resulting imbalance in the nature of whatever must be rectified, or there may be dire consequences for something. We must do something evil.
I'm adding autotools support. Sorry. The autotools support is entirely about distribution and dealing with help, icons and translations. Meld still needs no compilation step, and should run just fine uninstalled. In fact, if you run Meld uninstalled currently, you should hopefully not even notice the change (unless you need to compile translations). None of this is in git yet, though some of the pre-autotools porting work may well make it there shortly. In the meantime, I've attached a tarball to bug 636318 (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636318). The file should be directly accessible at: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=190185 Testing of installed and uninstalled use would be much appreciated. If there's anyone with strong autofoo around, don't shy away from rending apart my amateur efforts at understanding that mess. If there are any distribution packagers, let me know how it goes; I managed to get a reasonable RPM built for Fedora, but that's as far as my packaging abilities extend. Oh, and sorry. cheers, Kai _______________________________________________ meld-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/meld-list
