Hi Royce, I've asked this in the past and got a "won't fix" reply. Sadly, because of this missing feature I am still on Meld 1.8.3. What you wrote is exactly my case, but you also bring an alternative for actually displaying the filename, which is great. I hope Kai will consider implementing this, even as a flag that is off by default.
