That release is over two years old at this point. By the time the next
version of Meld is stable, 3.20 will also have been out for two years.

Also, 3.22 is the stable-and-staying-stable release of GTK+ 3, so
chances are good that we'll just jump straight to requiring that
instead. I've never actually used Mint and have no opinion on it,
but... even current RHEL has GTK+ 3.22.
