I've tested this briefly, and I'm pretty sure that we're actually just taking a long time to do... something. Testing with small binaries it's a bit slow but totally fine, but it soon gets really bad. I'm not sure whether this is us doing something silly, or whether it's an issue in GtkSourceView loading or what.
