Hello,

I have three questions regarding Charter cities and prevailing wages. (If these
questions don't ring a bell, please forward this email to your Public Works department
or Contract Compliance office.)

First, does anyone know of any Charter city (besides Big Bear Lake) that sets its own
"prevailing wage" rates on city-funded Public Works contracts?

Second, in Charter cities that do not require payment of state prevailing wages on
city-funded Public Works contracts, what sort of safeguards (if any) are in place
against unreasonably low wages?

Lastly, does anyone have a feel for (or data) regarding what wages are typically paid
to employees under Public Works contracts that do not mandate prevailing wages?

Any assistance you can provide will be much appreciated.
