The Town of Truckee is seeking information on the
best method for tracking mechanics' hours spent on each piece of
equipment. We're looking more for how the mechanic records the time spent
on each vehicle, rather than the type of software used for input. However,
any information on software would be appreciated. Our lead mechanic
believes that each mechanic should "punch in" on a time card each time he works
on a certain piece of equipment. Each piece of equipment would have its
own time card, I suppose. I'm not convinced it's the most effective method
for tracking those mechanics' hours, but I'm not aware of a better method
at this point. Please provide any information that you believe would be
helpful by Friday, March 10, 2000.
