The City of Simi Valley has received approval and funding to implement a new software system. The City has selected SAP software and will start the implementation in May. The City of Simi has a very efficient and well thought-out Chart of Accounts, which has worked well for us for the past twelve years. However, with GASB 34 implementation eminent I would like input from members that have recently implemented new software and have given consideration to the requirements of GASB Statement 34 in planning their Chart of Account structure. Additionally, have you given consideration to State Controller's reporting requirements? Please respond by April 7th. I will summarize and share the information with the group.
