The City is in police negotiations and one issue by the union is adding
longevity pay to the MOU. Management is not interested in just additional
steps and money at 5, 10, 15 and 20 years. The interest is in creating an
incentive for high performance officers to stay with the small organization
(they are 'at parity' with similar size organizations).
What innovative incentive programs are out there, police or not, that
support retention of people?
