Here's a very cool deal. The Legislative Analyst has compiled an on-line data base on their web site data of city and county financial information based on 1997-98 State Controller reports. They have extracted key revenue and expenditure data. Check it out. PS: The LAO produces a lot of good (and readable) information about state and local government finance. You can easily subscribe to their service which will automatically let you know when something new comes out - which is how I got the attached notice.) -Bill Bill Statler, Director of Finance City of San Luis Obispo 990 Palm Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 Phone: (805) 781-7125 Fax: (805) 781-7401 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The Legislative Analyst's Office has just placed on its web site: --------------------------- Local Government Database --------------------------- The Local Government Database provides revenue, expenditure, and other data for California cities and counties. Developed to assist the Conference Committee on AB 1396 in comparing local government reform proposals, the database can search many key data categories for local governments. The database, for instance, allows users to quickly compare property and sales tax revenues in various jurisdictions. Reach this database directly at: http://www.lao.ca.gov/local_govt/dbs/ab1396 or from the LAO's Local Government page at: http://www.lao.ca.gov/lao_menu_local_govt.asp ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF LAOWWW" command (without the quotes, in the text of your message) to [EMAIL PROTECTED], or by going to http://www.lao.ca.gov/joinleave.html.
