The City of Commerce calculates its business license tax by placing factors on the number of employees and building square footage. As this is basically a stagnant tax in a built-out city, we are considering adding an escalator to these factors. We are interested in talking to cities that have such escalators in their business license tax and also obtaining any sample ordinances or ballot measures used to enact the tax.
