Do any cities or special districts agencies offer premium pay for employees that speak a second language, such as Spanish? If so, how is it structured - a flat dollar amount or a few cents per hour per hour or something else? During our recent bus route restructuring, we found it would have been very valuable to have more Spanish speaking employees and bus drivers in particular. We offer the training classes in Spanish, but would like to offer an incentive for employees to successfully complete this training. Looking for any ideas. I will summarize results to the group.
