Attached please find a spreadsheet with info on personnel spending for all
Calif cities for 1996-97. This is an opportunity for me to recommend to you a
great data resource. I pulled this data off the RAND California web site and
plunked in a few computations in about 15 minutes. The site has extensive data
on city finance (more than you will find in the published annual Controller
reports) plus economic, demographic, crime data and more. Check it out free
for a month. I hope that if more local government folks use the site, they
will continue to maintain and improve it.
