Bei Solaris und OmniOS heißt das Tool "catman". Bei OmniOS soll man aber
direkt "man -w" nehmen:
SYNOPSIS
catman [-M path] [-w]
DESCRIPTION
The catman utility generates a set of whatis database files suitable for
use with apropos(1) and whatis(1). It is supplied for compatibility
reasons. The same databases can be generated using the -w option with
man(1), and that command should be used instead.
Bei Solaris gibt es die Abkürzung mit "man -w" nicht.
