A meeting of the Pakistani community will be held in the Embassy (2315 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Washington, DC, 20008) on Saturday, the 4th of January 2003 at 11 a.m. to discuss various aspects related to the latest INS directive regarding the registration of Pakistanis from January 13, 2003 to February 21, 2003. 2. The Embassy has been contacting senior officials in the State Department, Justice Department and the National Security Council, urging the US authorities to remove Pakistan form the list of countries whose nationals are to be registered. The Embassy is also making efforts to provide relief to those Pakistanis who have filed cases under various provisions of the U.S. law. 3. Ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi will address the gathering.
