Bruce,
It would be easy to show you where the relay goes on my car and it
is so easy to do. A 30 amp mini Bosch relay is good for normal
street use and what it does is allows you to run up to around
90/100 watts globes for low beam using the original relay and up
to around 400 watts total high beam. Mind you if you go up to
these sort of wattages for your headlights your pulling close to
35 amps on high beam so your charging system will require a bit of
a modification. The main loom wire between the alternator and the
solenoid melts at around 50 amp continuous charge. I have used
Cibie inserts that are 60/100w & 2x100w on mine with this mod for
close on 20 yrs and it has never as much as blown a fuse and the
standard 510 relay is also the original and so is the light
switch.
