Wayne,
CH rego (VIC) ie Classic Historic. You need to be in a car club. You get the
club authorised Scruttineer to inspect the car. If everything is in order
then he/she signs a form for you to take to Vic roads. You then pay your
$83.50 and they send you the plates in the mail. You don't get a rego
sticker though. Plates are dark red with white letters they have CH followed
by four numbers.
Insurance try shannons $$$, torque, etc. I'm with Unique, tell them you
drive the car only twice a month an the insurance premium goes down..
You can then use the car to drive on club Gazzetted events. To and from club
meetings, track days, rallies, navigational trials, club cruises etc. Note
this does not mean the car becomes your daily driver.

Trev, What's the deal with club registration & insurance (vic). Rules &
regulations
and that sort of thing.Obvioulsy club membership is one prerequisite. Any
light
you can shed on the subject will save me getting off my fat ass and
contacting
my local car club.
