    Can I presume that the 610 t/shaft will be a straight swap into a 510 with a long box?

Colin,

They are a long box.  I have just put one in my 180B SSS.  With the 610, it bolted straight up to tailshaft, hole in floor, x-member, etc.  They also have a rear x-member that has a support welded to exhaust.

Based on this, I would expect that you would need a new tailshaft and move the hole in the floor.  Not sure about the mount.

    Peter Parry thanx for your offer of assistance with that l20 the
    other week. We have turned up some thing suitable (nothing
    special) just round the corner. Series 11 Bluebird c/w 5 Spd.
    Listers
    Will be converting next weekend so some quick questions.
        Is this g/box OK to use in 1600
        Short ? Long? or what ever.
        Do we need one of those fabricated rear mounts?
        Move the hole in the floor?
        What will we need for tailshaft - cut and shut or original?
        Presume 1600 speedo cable plonks in.

    Could have more questions on this next week but......thinking
    ahead to get around the polutant carb system are the 6 cyl Z twin
    carbs bigger than the 4 cyl SSS ?
    Mount on SSS manifold?
    Are different needles available?
    presumed different between 16 -1800 at least?
    OR are all these thoughts of tuning and mixtures just a waste of
    time and we get a SSS set and 'just wack em on' and they work OK?
