Chris, Just a quick idea, did you check if the ignition fuse (#3 for a 510) is OK as the shower of sparks could have fried it. I'll think about your problem a bit more later on, but can you check the obvious stuff in the mean time. Oh, one more thing, have a look at the back of the replacement alternator and tell me what the writing is at each of the terminals. You're looking for "Bat" or similar where the big white lead goes, is there an "F" and a "A" or an "IND" near the "T" connector and don't worry about the "E" as it's in the same place on most Hitachi alternators. regards -- Terry "You win some, you lose some, you wreck some."
