You can polish the non chrome bits using a polishing wheel driven by a power
drill. Feed either special aluminium polish into the buffing wheel or coat
the brightwork with "reco extra cut auto cream" before applying to the
polishing buff.  This cream is also great for polishing mag wheel rims to a
mirror finish using a buffing wheel.
