Anthony,
Bluebird 910 cable & peddle are a fairly common replacement - rated easy to do the conversion and it keeps genuine datto bits on board. You need a 2 cable locks like on a commydore and to reshape eer bend the top of the  peddle a bit and that's about it. Fellow Ozdater Matt in Sydney mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] has done this conversion recently and a mighty fine job of it too as it looks like factory.
