One of my friends had a 1600 that he raced regularly and I know he used a
welded diff. He actually went to an LSD, but hated it and went back to the
welded centre.

Not sure on the welding. I can ask him if you like.

Does a welded diff run alright on the track, or is it only good for the
drags.  Does the metal need to be heat treated after welding or can
anyone weld it.
