That would be too easy and logical. I attended a community function last night
that a local member (former policeman) attended to explain the ACT
interpretation of the new rules recently introduced under the local code which
is an extension to the National code. What a joke, local administrators &
safety committees and the like can basically instruct policing authorities or
if they don't agree the parliament can legislate their local amendments to get
what they want, what's different to the way it is now, just with a bunch of new
rules that the pushy lobby got up. Classic example around here is the local to
the ACT legislation to control burnouts on public streets especially when the
Nats crowd are in town round New Year. I think we will never get a true
national code as Australia is still run politically like it's a bunch of
countries with common boarders and not like a single nation and i haven't seen
anything recently put into action to change my view.
regards,
Terry (I wonder if WA still wants to breakaway hehe)
