Tim,
I would think it is quite reasonable to have a "reply" contain what is deemed to
be relevant posted information so that you may keep track of what was originally
said and therefore the reader has some insight into what your input to the topic
is about especially if the post being replied to is a number of days old. I can
see how it's a bit of a problem size wise for digest users, but can you image
the problems that online listers would have if each and every posting was a one
way conversation. I can sympathise but can't offer a solution to suite all
users.
