I desperately need to rejet the carburetor on my 510, but I am not sure
which jets to use. My car is a 1969 WPL 510 (wagon version) and the L16
motor is absolutely stock. The stock intake has been replaced with an
Offy dual port and the carb I am running is a Weber 32/36 DGV. This
intake and carb were on a really built L16 along with a SSS head (which I
have, but have not put on yet). That is great for the future, but right
now it is causing the back of my car to turn black. Currently, I have
140 primary main jet, 135 secondary main jet, 165 primary air corrector
jet, 160 secondary air corrector jet, 55 primary idle jet, 50 secondary
idle jet, and both auxiliary venturies are 35. The car has plenty of
power with the current setup and always starts instantly, even on the
coldest mornings-I am just looking to save some money on gas and to cut
down on having to wash so much. What should I run? Also, when I took
off the carburetor to get the sizes off the jets, I noticed that the
primary and secondary ports on the intake looked dramatically different.
I took some pictures and James was nice enough to put them on the
website. Can anyone take a look at these and tell me if this is normal?
