I'd be in a set of black faced luminescent gauges.  I'm old fashioned I guess, but classic layout of white markings on a black background look much more authentic and readable than the reverse, which reeks "trendy colour comes first over practicality" to me.
 
I'm not too fussed about Autometer gauges for this reason.  They look like they are designed to look trendy, not necessarily accurate.
