Wayne
 first you need to be a member of a club. Then you need to obtain a level 2 license, which is easy, you ask for one when you join the club, pay your money and you have one.
Next you need to have bonnet straps on your car, also a fire extinguisher and a oil catch tank for your engine. A good helmet FIA standards.
Then you can practice till your hearts content or you run out of fuel, which ever comes first.
